1 John 1:5-10(Devotional)

1 John 1:5-10
Now this is the message we have heard from Him and declare to you: God is light and there is absolutely no darkness in Him.  If we say, we have fellowship with Him yet walk in darkness, we are lying and are not practicing the truth.  But if we walk in the light as He Himself is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.  If we say we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us.  If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.  If we say, We don't have any sin, we make Him a liar and His word is not in us.

God:
You know that being in a relationship with me will change your life.  When you're with Me you're going to do things that I like to do.  Committing to be with Me means committing to a lifestyle of pleasing Me.  If you're really in a relationship with Me there are things you can't do anymore.  I'm the only one that can change you.  I'm the only one that will remove your sin but you need to cling to me.  You need me.  So stop saying you're in a relationship with me if you're going to keep walking away from me.  Stop claiming to be in a relationship with me but keep acting as if you don't need me.   Every time you say these things to me it hurts.  You're a liar and the way you act makes me look like the liar.

1 John 2:7-11(Devotional)

1 John 2: 7-11(Devotional)
Dear friends, I am not writing you a new command but an old command that you have had from the beginning. The old command is the message you have heard. Yet I am writing you a new command, which is true in Him and in you, because the darkness is passing away and the true light is already shining. The one who says he is in the light but hates his brother is in the darkness until now. The one who loves his brother remains in the light and there is no cause for stumbling in him. But the one who hates his brother is in the darkness, walks in the darkness, and doesn't know where he is going because the darkness has blinded his eyes.

God:
Be careful how you live. The night is almost here and the day of salvation is at hand. Walk in My light. Hold to My Word and do not depart from it. Let My Word be a lamp to your feet and a light to your path.

Me:
Lord I'm getting a little anxious about all you are telling me. But please help me to hide Your Word in my heart and trust You. Help me to be prepared and confident for what comes next. I am scared and fear leaving and departing from You so please hold on to me and help me have confidence in Your grip on me.

1 John 2:1-6(Devotional)

1 John 2:1-6
My little children, I am writing you these things so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father. Jesus Christ the Righteous one, He Himself is the propitiation for our sins and not only for ours, but also those of the whole world. This is how we are sure that we have come to know Him: by keeping His commands. The one who says, "I have come to know Him,"yet doesn't keep His commands, is a liar, and the truth is not in Him. But whoever keeps His Word, truly in Him the love of God is perfected. This is how we know we are in Him: The one who says he remains in Him should walk just as He walked.

God:
Remain in my words, hold them tight and bind it to all you do and all your thoughts. You're going to make mistakes but if you keep My Word before you it will work to transform your heart and mind.

Me:
Lord, help me to seek You out daily, to fellowship with you and to not become distracted. Help me guard my time with You knowing You are God.
